Spoil Your Spa Guests

Everyone is a VIP at your spa, but there is the 20% or less than truly make your organization what it is.  They are the bread and butter.  They know your brand as well as your leadership.  What the best hotels in the world already know is this group has special needs:  They are busy, they are accustomed to the best and they wanted it yesterday (in winter come spring mauve).   Here is a quick list of what your best spa clients may require.

Hotel?  At Gstaad Palace, Switzerland your dog is a guest too.  Specialty food, two water dog spa cucumberbowls, a welcome card.  For the human guest please try their igloo village suites or build your own.  Why do we think your canine companion might prefer the fireplace?

At the spa?  In room canine pampering might include a wash and blow out.  Well pedicured girls and boys expect colors that blend ever so naturally with their fur tone.  A light misting of an organically sourced essential oil blend is all the rage:  Wood notes for boys and citrus for girls.

ocean-leaf1.jpgHotel?  At the Hilton Bora Bora Nui Resort and Spa a two story overwater bungalow awaits featuring a glass floor overlooking pools of tropical fish in the clear waters below.  Ask the chef for a fresh catch of your choosing and how you would like it grilled or prepared and it is yours beachside or in your private dining suite.

At the spa?  While the trend watchers are making up media attention grabbing therapies the well-understood spa guest expects you to understand their skin, body and wellness needs.  Sure a black pearl scrub sounds divine but what the luxury spa guest expects is a massage intimately fitting to the shape and tonality of their body.  They require a facial expertly formulated for just what their skin, eyes, décolleté and underlying muscle tissue craves.  They want a nourishing natural pedicure with a quickly finished coat of polish that make their feet glow like the sand in moonlight.

The BouldersHotel? At the The Boulders in Carefree, Arizona guests can make a quick entrance or exit via helicopter on the property’s helipad, with the backdrop of desert sand and signature cacti in the pastel landscape.  Guests have at their disposal a pre-arranged butler, private chef, valet or office assistant at a nominal fee per hour.  There is seemingly no need that isn’t able to be arranged by a hands on staff.

At the spa?  Short of flying in your guest’s favorite massage therapist or master of movement modality, which some spas do… offering the very best of your upper end client’s wishes should be arranged pre-visit.  If your spa regularly has star powered guests employ the best make-up artist, stylist and body therapist to be on hand at a moment’s call.  You may need to create a special employment package for your best performers, but do it now…they are worth every euro.
